With the use of microscopes, we are now able to perform most dental and periodontal procedures more precisely in the least invasive means possible, professionally known as Minimally Invasive Dentistry. The microscope is an extremely valuable tool when used in conjunction with hard and soft tissue lasers since the tissue reactions can be more closely observed.

The microscope is also beneficial in locating small and extra canals in teeth that are being root canalled. In fact, all endodontic teaching programs in the U.S. are required to include training on the microscope as part of their curriculum. Some dental schools are even exposing all of their students to the microscope.
